Chef. Lizzie has been with Kaingu almost since the beginning, having come from Puku Pan lodge upstream. She is an accomplished Chef, and her quiet nature and hard work means she is universally respected in the lodge. She does not just confine herself to the kitchen, but can be found checking the housekeepers and making sure that Vincent knows the arrivals and departures of guests for his campsite. Besides that though, her apple cakes, fish and pies are however absolutely outstanding! Her fame became pretty much viral last year when a facebook post about her stuffing Hippos (okay, they were made from dough) into the oven reached 20424 people!
“I am a lady of 44 years old born in Kaoma district. I have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. I was born in a family of ten nd I am the only daughter among 9 sons. My mother is a widow and I am looking after her. My plans are to have a shop where I can cook some food for sale (Restaurant) but I don’t want to stop work at KaingU Lodge because I really like my job. I want to work while my business is running and want to work at the lodge as long they need me. I enjoy learning new recipes and thank you for that”
