Kaingu has built an enviable reputation for food. Fresh and creative menus, which are updated each year as well as with seasonal changes, ensure that your taste senses are delighted.

Our head chefs, Wilna and Lizzy, are very experienced, and their cooking starts from raw ingredients. Locally gathered wild fruits are made into jams full of flavour, sourdough is fed and baked in our wood-fired oven, and the catch of the day is filleted, dipped in beer batter and deep-fried.

Kaingu sources produce that includes as many locally grown & farmed ingredients as possible, including vegetables from farmer Charles, crayfish from Moffy (both just 20km South of the lodge), organic honey (Shandavwu Women’s Bee Club, South Kafue), organic ducks (Kalimba farms, Lusaka), or products of the It’s Wild company (all over rural areas in Zambia).

While doing so, we are supporting small-scale conservation-based agriculture in the rural areas of Zambia and contribute directly to the conservation of Zambia’s wildlife and ecosystems while reducing poverty and hunger.

Enjoy unique tastes of the bush at Kaingu: Baobab Lemonade, Monkey-finger-fruit-jam, Sindambe-Flower-dessert, Mbila-nut-hummus, Marula-Chutney.

Our cuisine includes Mediterranean & African classics, modern Zambian fusions, slow-cooked roasts and innovative vegetarian meals.

Our meals are freshly cooked and cater for all dietary requirements and customs.

Kindly state any requirements in the booking process as our location is remote and our deliveries are scheduled.

Tables are laid individually per guest; if you wish, you can invite your guide or host to join you for dinner.
